The Harleth Journal was published online for an academic readership by Pierson A. Harleth & Co. from 2014-15. It examined the construction of gendered, styled, and ailing bodies and identities using a humanities lens.
The web journal featured content that drew upon scholarship in literary theory, cultural and media studies, and feminist criticism in order to examine the constitutive relationship between the material-discursive processes of aesthetics and structures of femininity and masculinity in the postmodern age. In doing so, the publication strived to furnish a posthumanistic intervention to androcentric and normative gender dialectics, and thus open up new possibilities for negotiations of selfhood in the 21st century.
